The sorcerer with the talent of time sees the world differently from others.
To him, all is a web of events, an intricate weave of intertwining realities that
blend into each other. To alter even the smallest of threads sends waves of change
though out the web, sometimes with great consequences.

Time
AWAKENED: Awakened Time Magic may present itself as
visions and premonitions of the future (or past), accidental freezes of time or
transportation through time and space. Time Scars are nearly always imperceptible;
the mage is often made amnesiatic of certain events, driven insane from an influx
of possibility, or outright destroyed as if he had never been born--with no one
else remembering him.
INITIATE: The key word of the Initiate Sorcerer is DETECT
The Initiate Sorcerer is able to "see" the threads of reality and the flow of the
weave around him, and thus recognize patterns and potential bends in his immediate
vicinity. She can tell when the weave has been tampered with, and is able to detect
alterations in time such as a "slow" spell that has been placed upon a person.
APPRENTICE: The key word of the Apprentice Sorcerer is AFFECT
The Apprentice Sorcerer is able to slightly alter the flow of time in an area no
greater than his line of sight. He can cause time to slow slightly, or speed up
in the area of effect. Thus, he could cause a rampaging flood or rock slide to
slow. However, the area of effect is unstable and oddly shaped. He may not yet
narrow the distortion down to a single individual. He can also bend the lines of
space around him to make a destination closer.
MAGE: The key word of the Mage Sorcerer is CREATE
The Mage Sorcerer is now able to create relatively stable time distortions and can
open a window into the near future to make minor predictions. She can single out
a target to affect, and as long as the target is not moving too quickly, there is
no longer any danger of the distortion affecting unintended subjects. She can open
small rifts to teleport within her line of sight.
ADEPT: The key word of the Adept Sorcerer is CONTROL
The control of time allows the Adept Sorcerer to make long term predictions and
intricately control time within his line of sight. He may cause a wrinkle in time,
causing something to jump from one point in time to another and cease to exist in
between. He uses his powers wisely, for he knows that any alterations he makes
has a lasting effect on the world. He can now open stable teleportation rifts to
any location that he has been to before, and make them large enough for several
people to travel through.
LOST ABILITIES: It is rumoured that Wizards once
had the ability to view nearly any part of the weave they wished and could completely
stop the flow of time in a region. They could also open rifts to alternate realities,
other threads within the weave.
Hazards of Time Magic:
Time mages are subject to the peculiarities of temporal paradox. The greatest
difficulty for time mages is in determining what potential effects may occur as
a result of their actions. It is important to understand that the reality of
time is extremely complicated, with twists and turns that are difficult to follow.
Accomplished sorcerors can see into the past and the future to some degree.
Sometimes they may even see what might be. But rare is the mage who can see what
will be, if the events leading up to that point are altered, and some events are
beyond the power of any time mage to affect.
Because time mages of skill can also move themselves through space, they must be
careful to not get lost in the Weave and end up in an alternate time thread. As
with non-magical means of travel, the shorter the distance crossed, the less likely
it is that the mage will get lost or be knocked off of his intended path.
It is difficult magic, and not something to undertake lightly, even without the
ethical implications. That is why most time mages mainly concern themselves with
viewing the Weave, and then responding to it with more appropriate, non-magical
resources. In the end, however, each mage must decide for him or herself when and
how to act.
